Sacked Super Eagles' coach, Stephen Keshi, is said to be demanding a compensation of a billion Naira (more than $400 million), from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for allegedly defaming him. The NFF has however said they've not received any letter.
Latest report, which last week, broke the story that Keshi had dragged the NFF to court for “wrongful dismissal and defamation”, claimed that a Kaduna-based law firm, on Friday, wrote the NFF; demanding a billion Naira from the nation's football ruling body, as compensation for defaming it's client, Keshi.
When contacted for comment on the development, NFF Assistant Director, Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire, said the NFF had received no letter from any law firm, demanding a billion naira compensation to the sacked Super Eagles' coach.
“We have not received any such letter,” the NFF Spokesman said.
Keshi was sacked as Super Eagles’ head coach by the NFF on July 5 after the NFF disciplinary committee investigated various allegations against him, primary of which was that he applied to coach the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
This was four months after the 53-year-old coach signed a new two-year contract.
