The All Progressives Congress. (APC) candidate in the Kogi State governorship election, Prince Audu Abubakar has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Abubakar polled 240,867 votes to defeat the incumbent governor of the state, Idris Wada, who scored 205,977.
22 candidates participated in the governorship polls that were held across 234 wards in the state.
The returning officer, Prof Emmanuel I Kucha, who is also the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi declared the collated results that kick started at about 7.30am today.
