Chairman, Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Iyiola Oyedepo, has stated that the party is set for an in-house cleansing to fish out the moles among its members. Oyedepo made this known while featuring on a weekly Radio Nigeria Harmony FM 103.5 live programme titled: ‘PDP on the Move’ in Ilorin, the state capital. Apparently doing an appraisal of the party’s poor outing in the state during the just concluded general elections, the chairman stated a lot of his party members were found to be moles sent by the opposition into the party, who strongly worked against the PDP in the elections, lamenting that it was late at the time the party discovered to decisively deal with them. Speaking on the vacancies created by the exit of the General Secretary and others on the eve of the election, Oyedepo stated the party was not in a hurry to conduct bye-elections into their offices as a pre-cautionary way to guide against a repeat of the old mistake. The party would thoroughly screen people for the three posts in order not to pick persons that were loyal to their masked principals only and not the party, Oyedepo stated. As stated by him, this time around the party is out to simply rebrand and reposition itself towards winning the forthcoming local government polls and move from there to capture Kwara in other legs of elections the state.
