Barring any unforeseen circumstance, two major roads in Lagos, namely Ajasa-Command Road in Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Abesan Estate link road connecting Aboru from Agbelekale, are to be completed soon.

While the former is to be completed within the next five weeks, Abesan estate link is expected to be complete by the end of 2016.

Giving the assurance during his visit to major project site yesterday, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode said the dual carriage Ajasa-Command road would be completed with functional streetlights, drainage system, walkways and road median.

The governor recalled his visit to the area about two months ago where he lamented the dilapidated state of the road, and ordered contractors to move to site immediately.

He said: “You all recall that two months ago, we came here and we were totally displeased with the state of the road in this particular area. I have come to inspect the work that is being done and I must say that we are satisfied with the pace of work, and we also have it on assurance that by the middle of next month, this Ajasa-Command Road will be completed.

“We only want to appeal to all our community leaders and all the residents here that you make sure that you maintain whatever infrastructure that we will be giving to you here. I can also assure you that Aboru, Church Street Road linking up with Abesan Estate will also be completed before the end of the year,” the Governor stated.
