The unnamed Foxes supporter was taken to hospital minutes after the final whistle blew on the club's 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium, and he remains in critical condition
A Leicester City fan is in hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack following the club's narrow 1-0 triumph over Newcastle United.
The unnamed supporter was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary just minutes after full time at the King Power Stadium, and remains in a critical condition.
Claudio Ranieri's men prevailed in a tense clash thanks to Shinji Okazaki's goal in the first half, which puts the Foxes five points clear at the Premier League summit.
"We received a call at 9.50pm to Freemens Common Road near the stadium where we attended a male patient in his 60s suffering possible symptoms similar to a cardiac arrest or heart attack," a spokesman for the East Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed.
Social media users had spread the rumour that the individul had passed away after suffering the attack.
A spokesman for Leicester, however, informed that the man's son had contacted the club to clarify that his father was in a critical state at the hospital.
