A 26-year-old robber was on Friday night disarmed of his gun by the owner of the house he gone to rob in Dutse Alhaji, Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
The suspect had visited his friend at a neighbouring community known as Gwagwa, where he was said to have collected the gun, a pistol, for the robbery, it was learnt.
“He was busy ransacking the house when the owner of the house through the back, jumped on him, overpowered and collected the pistol from him.”
As stated by the source, the owner of the house also immediately alerted the police who arrived the scene and arrested the suspect and took him to the station.
A police officer at the station said the man confessed that he had earlier used the gun to rob a woman of her handbag containing some valuable items in the same area.
