The Joint Military Force has stated there was no assault by suspected pirates at an oil movement station in Bayelsa over the weekend.
Recall that the report had stated three troopers died, with a pirate in the course of the shootout.
However, spokesman for the pressure – “Operation Delta Safe” – Major Abdullahi Ibrahim, instructed newsmen in Yenagoa that the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC’s) Tunu Flow Station, was not attacked.
“The report that three soldiers and an armed pirate died at SPDC’s Tunu Flow Station is not true,” he stated.
“I'm in contact with the officer answerable for the movement station; there was no such incident on the movement station.
“Members of the public should disregard the report; Tunu station was not attacked; the facility is secure.”
