Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko yesterday stated the greatest asset President Muhammadu Buhari can give to Nigeria is to promote free and credible elections.

He stated credible election is the key to the greatness of Nigeria.

Mimiko spoke at the state Convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Akure, the State capital.

At the congress, which was conducted by PDP National delegations led by, Mr. Mohammed Iman, the former Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperative Services, Engr. Clement Faboyede was re-elected as the chairman of the party.

Faboyode, became PDP chairman in 2014 when Mimiko joined the party from Labour Party (LP).

The governor who also serves as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum assured that the PDP would continue to win elections in the state.

He stated elections in the state, under the PDP government will not stop to be exciting, violence free in line with the mantra of one man, one vote.

Mimiko noted that “PDP in Ondo State is now a united family. It is a sign of greater thing to come to the party.

“It is only PDP that can defeat PDP in Ondo state. Once we are united in the state, it is an evidence that we will not stop to rule this state.

“Election in Ondo state will not stop to be an exciting thing. It will be violence free. It will be on the mantra of one man, one vote.

“The only thing we can give to democracy is to promote free and credible election. I don’t care about crude oil but I know that our greatest thing is human asset.

“This nation will be great. Let us continue to invest in credible election”.

The new elected State Chairman of PDP, Faboyede assured members of the party that discipline will not be thrown overboard in the party.

He promised that the executives of party from ward to the state level would continue to respect and support the present administration in the state.
