The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin, has authorised the deployment of extra Special Forces in Plateau state, North-central Nigeria.

This comes after suspected herdsmen killed at the very least 80 individuals over the weekend in Xland, Gindin Akwati, Ruku, Nghar, Kura Falls and Kakuruk all in Gashish District.

The extra troops have arrived in Jos and have been briefed by the Commander of the operation, Maj.-Gen. A.M. Atolagbe, in line with a assertion.
