Brazil finally ended their long wait to clinch their first Olympic gold medal by defeating Germany on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the Maracana.
Captain Neymar scored the winning spot-kick as the Selecao, having lost three gold medal matches beforehand, won the men's football tournament at the 2016 Rio Games.
The Barcelona star had a free kick cancelled out by Max Meyer in normal time, before Nils Peterson crucially missed a penalty in the shootout for Germany.
Brazil's victory saw them claim redemption following their heavy 7-1 defeat against Germany at the 2014 World Cup on home soil.
And various stars from football, Hollywood and more took to Twitter to congratulate Rogerio Micale's men...
