The Chief Executive Officer of the Port Harcourt Electric Distribution Company, on Tuesday stated Nigeria loses up to N21 billion to stolen electricity.
Mr Jay McCoskey also stated.30 percent of electricity generated are not paid for by users.
Mr McCoskey, who raised this as one of the major challenges of electricity generation and distribution in the country, also complained that up to N7 billion debt is owed distribution companies by government customers.
The Minister for Power, Mr Babatunde Fashola, stated Ministries Departments and Agencies of government must pay up the electricity debts accumulated over the years saying this is one of the solutions towards incremental and steady power supply in the country.
