Former Presidential New Media aide Reno Omokri has condemned the transfer by the Federal Government to renew the trial of Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West).
Famzn News had reported that the federal authorities has urged the Abuja High Court to order the resumption of the trial of Melaye.
The court docket adjoined Melaye’s trial indefinitely to allow the embattled senator to recuperate.
Nigeria’s Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, made the request on behalf of the federal government.
The letter addressed to “The Chief Registrar, High Court of FCT, Maitama, Abuja” was titled, ‘Re; Charge No. CR/106/18: FRN V Senator Dino Melaye; Request for a date for trial’.
Reacting in a publish on Twitter, Omokri wrote: “Just think about that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who requested a court docket to cease the Senate’s probe on Maina’s reinstatement, has now written to an Abuja excessive court docket to ask the decide to instantly resume @dino_melaye’s trial.
“Is there still justice in Nigeria?”
