Senator Dino Melaye
Senator Dino Melaye (PDP-Kogi West) has alleged that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is collecting signatures of lawmakers for the impeachment of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and men of the Nigeria Police Force have denied lawmakers entry into the National Assembly by blocking the complex.
It was gathered that the security operatives said they barricaded the National Assembly based on order ”from above.”
APC senators were reported converge in Sheraton Hotel as the plot to impeach Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu thickens.
Speaking on Tuesday, Melaye said the APC National Chairman was in a meeting with pro-Buhari senators to collect signatures for Saraki and Ekweremadu’s impeachment.
He said: “The Chairman of APC is currently meeting with some APC Senators. As I speak, we understand he is collecting signature for the Senate President’s impeachment.
“We also understand that after collecting the signatures they will be proceeding to the National Assembly to carry out their plan. We are waiting for them.”
