President Muhammad Buhari yesterday, described the 16 years’ administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa, saying as a waste, adding that a vote for the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Timipre Sylva, in the forthcoming governorship election would end the suffering of the people of the state.
As stated by President Muhammad Buhari who was represented by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, for Bayelsa State to hold a pride of place in the nation, the people must take their destiny and vote for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, led a high powered delegation of the APC including the secetary to the government of the federation(SGF), the party’s national leader and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, governors of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, Deputy Governor Aminu Tambuwa of Imo State, the Flag Bearer of the APC in Rivers State, Dakuku Peterside and the Former National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bola Akande.
Also at the event was the Former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe, the Director-General of the Sylva/Igiri campaign Organization and the Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.
Vice President Osinbajo stated that Bayelsa will be a greater state under an APC led state government.
Earlier, the leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated by the number of party members and supporters at the event, Sylva has bounced back. He called on voters to play by the rule and defend their votes on election day.
Tinubu further stated that the strength of the crowd has made the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) afraid as he assured the crowd that victory can only be guaranteed if they participated in the process by casting their votes."They are already afraid. How do you demonstrate that you want change? Sylva has bounced Back and only you can make him win,” he stated.
As stated by him, Bayelsa can experience greatness again when Sylva returns to Government House which will bring the change at the centre to the state in order to engender development of infrastructure.
In his address, National chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun also called on the electorate to come out en masse to vote for the APC on Saturday to vote the party into power.
Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole in his solidarity speech stated it was time for the people of the state to join the change train saying the state has nothing to show after 16 years of PDP leadership.
