Plateau State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has suspended nine of its members for what it called “acts of gross misconducts and anti-party activities.” The party has also set up an eight-member Steering Committee to oversee its affairs pending when a new executive council will be constituted, with Alhaji Muazu Sani and Rabiu Kabiru as chairman and Secretary respectively. A statement jointly signed by Sani and Kabiru in Jos yesterday, reveals that the decision was taken after the party's meeting in Jos on Wednesday. As stated by the statement, those suspended were the 9 members of an ad-hoc committee earlier set up by the party to review the conduct of the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state which include the party’s deputy governorship candidate in 2015 election, Umar Dauda Isa; party’s state organising secretary, Mubarak Yusuf Garko; Jos North Local Government Area chairman of the party and Women Leader, Ibrahim U Mamman and Aisha Musa respectively. Meanwhile, those suspended have described their suspension as a nullity, insisting that they remain bonafide members of the party. The statement also disclosed other members of the committee who were also suspended as four party excos including Muhammed Bashır, Yusuf Abubakar, Maımunat Abubakar Sa’ad, Muhammad Abdullahi and Sani Abdul.
