Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, has finally moved into the new multi-billion naira Plateau Government House built by the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Jonah David Jang. This is contrary to his earlier stand.
It would be recalled that on assumption of office on May 29th this year, Governor Lalong told the people of the state that he does not need to live in such a structure at a time when majority of them could not afford a meal in a day.
However, recently the State House of Assembly passed a resolution asking the governor to move into the new Government house in view of the fact that the old one was no longer adequate for government business activities.
Governor Lalong had while receiving the Muslim community after the Sallah celebration at Presidential lodge within the old Government House, told his guests that with the resolution of the state House of Assembly, he was going to move in to the multi-billion edifice so that when next they visited, he would be in position to give them befitting reception at the new Government House, which he described as very spacious.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor Professor Sonnie Tyoden and the Secretary to the State Government have taken over the old Government House located within Jos South Local Government Council of the state.
