Goals from Nacer Chadli and Danny Rose gave the home side a vital victory over Swansea City at White Hart Lane on Sunday and the Argentine was delighted with the display
Mauricio Pochettino believes Tottenham proved their title credentials with their gritty comeback victory over Swansea City on Sunday.
Spurs fell behind to Alberto Paloschi's first-half strike but Nacer Chadli equalised in the 70th minute, before Danny Rose struck a 77th minute winner to send White Hart Lane into raptures.
The win means Spurs move to within two points of leaders Leicester City and three ahead of fierce rivals Arsenal, who lie in third following their 3-2 defeat at Manchester United.
And Pochettino has expressed his pride at his side's display, insisting that they have the "capacity" to turn on the style when the going gets tough, and says he has no concerns about preparing his side for the midweek London derby against West Ham.
"It’s easier to prepare West Ham game after this victory, they’re happy, they smile, it’s [a] better mood to recovery, this is a good moment and an exciting moment for us to keep the level but you know it’s true some players you need to manage," he told reporters.
"Some players feel a bit tired because we come from a tough period but you know that today we show unbelievable energy when we needed the capacity to turn the game and they showed the right energy."
Spurs face Arsenal after their encounter with West Ham and Pochettino maintains that Spurs are merely focusing on the next game as they prepare for a week which may define their title charge.
"All the players are pleased with the performance and satisfied but not too much," he added. "They know Wednesday is another big game, we need to recover quickly and try to arrive with good energy.
"We know we’re in a good position in the table but there's lots to go before the end of the season. They know we must keep working. The objective is the next game."
