The World Cup is over. It's strange, isn't it? We all now feel as though we're in limbo, eagerly waiting for the new season to kick off. Sure, there are pre-season friendlies, but it's not the same.
One saving grace? Transfers ramp up once again. Players have been put on the greatest stage of them all, and have duly impressed. With only a month to go before leagues around Europe start up once again, squeaky bum time sets in for managers.
Here's a quick look at seven of the most recent transfer rumours circulating the press...
7. Everton Keen on £50m Watford Duo
In what can only be described as one of the most predictable transfer links of the summer, former Hornets boss Marco Silva will turn to his old club to lure both Abdoulaye Doucoure and Richarlison to Goodison Park.
That is, according to TEAMTalk, who claim to have exclusive knowledge of Everton's intentions. Both players are expected to be keen on the move and a £50m bid in total could set the wheels in motion.
6. Mario Kart: Spurs Enter Race for Portuguese Attacker
Tottenham are looking to rival Wolves in their quest to sign Joao Mario, if FCInter09 are to be believed.
In fact, the report goes as far as claiming that Inter have turned down a loan bid for the playmaker; the Italians want any deal to include Mousa Dembele.
On the other hand, Wolves continue to edge closer to a deal because, well, Mario is Portuguese, and that's what Wolves do.
5. Barcelona Rival Arsenal In N'Zonzi Hunt
You get the impression that Steven N'Zonzi will never leave Sevilla. The midfielder has been linked away every weekend for the last year and still nothing has come through for the Frenchman.
That could soon change. Mundo Deportivo claim that a move to Camp Nou could be on the cards, and that Barcelona will look to rival Arsenal to his signing. However, Las Blaugrana will only pursue the World Cup winner is they fail to come to push through a deal for N'Zonzi's compatriot Adrien Rabiot.
4. Fulham Turn Attention to Espanyol Stopper
Fulham have ventured in to the Spanish market in their hunt for a new first choice goalkeeper, and have found themselves looking into Espanyol's Roberto.
According to La Contra Deportivo, the Cottagers are willing to match his current wages at Espanyol and make him the first string stopper - the latter of those making for an enticing offer that Roberto would find hard to turn down.
Keep a close eye on this one, it's early days, but we could soon see a transfer take shape with only a few weeks left of the closed season.
3. Chelsea Propose €45m Bid for Brazilian Youngster
You've heard of Vinicius Junior, right? Well, this is the next Vinicius Junior. In that he's young, Brazilian, playing for Flamengo, and a top tier European side is willing to pay outrageous amounts for him.
Meet Lucas Paqueta, who according to Coluna Do Flamengo is on the verge of being felt out by the Blues. That sounds weird. However, Chelsea are considering a move for the 20-year-old, and could well offer a sizeable fee of around €45m.
2. Seasiders Look to Take Advantage of Hayden's Homesick Dilemma
In what was a very unforeseen turn of events (and one that will most definitely have caused many a Newcastle fan to cry themselves to sleep on more than one occasion), Isaac Hayden has handed in a transfer request at St James' Park in order to move to closer to his family - somewhere in the south west region of England.
Fortunately for him, Chronicle Live reckon Brighton might facilitate that. The hierarchy over at the Amex Stadium would be willing to cough up £10m for the centre half. It would be a huge amount of profit for the Magpies, having bought him for only £1m from Arsenal in 2016, but they'll certainly be sad to see him leave.
1. Hornets Target Russian World Cup Hero
Not many would've been too familiar with Artem Dzyuba before this summer, but his performances in a Russia shirt at the World Cup have thrown him into the spotlight.
Three goals at the finals this year put Dzyuba amongst the most clinical strikers at the tournament, and Watford Observer claim that the Hornets are looking at the 29-year-old to strengthen their front line.
He'd certainly offer a physical, and powerful presence up front should he move to Vicarage Road.
