PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot has sung the praises of new manager Unai Emery, insisting he is a better one-on-one communicator than former boss Laurent Blanc.

Emery, who won three Europa League titles in a row with Sevilla, took charge of the Ligue 1 champions at the end of June following Blanc's sacking.

The Parisians got off to a fine start in their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup.

And Rabiot, who started against the European champions, has been impressed with what he's seen from Emery so far, insisting the players appreciate the way he takes time out to consult them on matters after training sessions.

When asked by Goal to explain the main differences between the current head coach and Blanc, Rabiot said: "Blanc had certain things going for him but I think Emery is a little closer to the players. This is a coach who really communicates with everyone. He is asking us our opinion after the sessions, what we liked, what we didn't like.

"He asks if you are not too tired after training. This is really important for the staff to know as they can then adapt [the training sessions]. They need to know if we can withstand the workload being asked of us. Communication is essential, not only in football but in all sports. This is what I find really good about Emery."

Rabiot was left out of France's squad for Euro 2016 and the midfielder has explained his determination to get back involved in Didier Deschamps' squad, with the 2018 World Cup qualifiers fast approaching.

He added: "I made a lot of progress last year. Since I started at PSG, every season I've progressed. I am to go out with the aim of having a good season and there's also the France team to consider. It tastes pretty special [to be involved with France] and of course, I want to quickly return to the squad.

"I will continue on that path and continue to progress. With every coach, we get to learn different things so I'll enjoy this year. It's good for me and it's good for the club."
