Cesc Fabregas is not known as a tough-tackling midfielder but a wayward challenge on Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan earned the Spain international a straight red card in the International Champions Cup clash.
The playmaker's dismissal did not prevent Chelsea from running out winners, as Gary Cahill scored the only goal of the game, but his tackle did leave the Liverpool defender in pain.
Fabregas looked apologetic after the dismissal and went over to the Estonia international to assess the damage.
