Marcus Rashford is being carried by Wayne Rooney and Manchester Unitedβs senior players, according to former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert.
The 18-year-old made a stunning introduction last season with four goals in his first two senior appearances, including a double to beat Arsenal.
Rashford also made it into Englandβs Euro 2016 squad due to his impressive performances last season but Lambert believes there will be little pressure on him to deliver under Jose Mourinho.
βWayne Rooney is carrying him, Michael Carrick is carrying him β people carry you when youβre young,β Lambert told BBC Five Live.
βWhen youβre a young player you can make as many mistakes as you want and you know the critics wonβt be too harsh on you. When you become 22, 23, 24 and start to become a main player, then you can be criticised.
βRashford might start, he might not, but the expectation will be on [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, Rooney and the same lads who have been carrying the club for a few years.β
