Manchester United have handed trials to Manchester City teenagers Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu and Ellis Simms, according to the Manchester Evening News .
The pair, a centre-back and left winger respectively, featured during Wednesday's 3-1 win over Everton Under-17s after run-outs for the Under-16 outfit the previous weekend.
Elewa-Ikpakwu was recently called up to the England Under-16 side, while Simms has turned out for England's Under-15s.
The news comes soon after Wayne Rooney's oldest son Kai opted to swap United for City, as reported by the Daily Mail .
Kai is understood to have been part of the academy at Old Trafford since October, along with Michael Carrick's son Jacey.
However, the seven-year-old has now switched allegiances.
