City are prepared to spend up to Β£30m on the 28-year-old but they face competition from Chelsea this summer
Manchester City want to make West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet their first signing of Pep Guardiolaβs era, according to The Sun.
City are targeting Payet as one of the players they want to bring in during this summerβs squad overhaul and would be prepared to spend up to Β£30 million on the 28-year-old, who moved to Upton Park in a Β£10.7m deal from Marseille.
But Chelsea are also weighing up a move for the West Ham man, especially if Eden Hazard leaves for Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Arsenal have also been impressed with Payetβs fast start to life in the Premier League, but the report claims that the Gunners are put off by the midfielderβs age and the competition from Chelsea and City.
