Reports suggest Slaven Bilic's side will make an attempt to sign the Arsenal and England man in the summer as they bid to improve their options in midfield
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has emerged as a surprise transfer target for West Ham United, according to the Brentwood Gazette.
Slaven Bilic is keen to bolster his midfield ahead of next season’s move to the Olympic Stadium and hopes to be able to lure the 24-year-old England international across London.
Wilshere’s career has been blighted by injuries and he has not played for Arsenal since last season’s FA Cup final.
However, he hopes to return to action in April and is still in the running to be named in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for this summer’s European Championships in France.
His long-term international hopes may depend on regular football, though, and West Ham, the club he supported when he was a youngster, could offer him that.
