It looks like Fitz is answering his phone again.
Just a few weeks after Brandon Marshall said his former quarterback had been ignoring his text messages, Ryan Fitzpatrick spent some quality time with the receiver in Chicago.
Marshall — who caught 14 of Fitzpatrick’s franchise-record 31 touchdowns last season — posted a photo to Instagram of him, the quarterback and two of Fitzpatrick’s children standing on a balcony with downtown Chicago behind them.
“My boy and his boys stopped in #chicago to say hello,” the star receiver wrote Monday night, two days before the Jets report for training camp.
Meanwhile, the contract standoff between Fitzpatrick and the organization continues.
The Jets have had multiple contract offers on the table for several months, but Fitzpatrick’s camp has yet to accept one. Back in March, the team offered him a three-year, $24 million deal that included a maximum value of $36 million and $15 million guaranteed. Fitzpatrick would stand to earn $12 million guaranteed in 2016.
