Samsung's latest mobile phone built for rugged work environments is the new Convoy 4, a tough flip phone that's aimed at enterprise workers who do their jobs in extreme conditions. The flip phone, available immediately exclusively through Verizon Wireless, sells for $192 and is Samsung's latest entry in the rugged mobile marketplace, which offers phones for workers in construction sites, warehouses, factory floors and other extreme environments, where water, dirt and dust can be present. The Convoy 4 features an internal 2.4-inch QVGA color display (240-by-320) and a 1.3-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) color display on the front. The handset, which is not a smartphone, has been preceded by three earlier versions of Samsung ruggedized Convoy phones, as well as ruggedized models in the company's smartphone line, including the Galaxy S6 Active in 2015. Rugged enterprise mobile phones and tablets for extreme environmental conditions are also offered by Kyocera, Caterpillar by Bullitt Mobile and others.
