National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Uche Secondus has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari for trying to subjugate his interest as a national interest.
Secondus was reacting to Buhari’s statement at the opening ceremony of the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Monday.
Buhari had urged lawyers to put national security over and above the rule of law.
Reacting, Secondus explained that the center of every national interest was contained in the constitution and that the rule of law of the nation and democracy is anchored on them.
He warned that Buhari’s interpretation of national interest and national security should be disregarded because it’s all aimed at enabling him create order 6 to appropriate legislative and judicial functions and operative a full blown dictatorship.
