The leadership of the senate has stated it would screen ministerial nominees transparently without pettiness or political vendetta when the senate gets the list.

This was made known in a speech by the senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, at the upper chamber adding that the senate is yet to receive President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list.

Saraki read out some letters but none of them indicated correspondence requesting ministerial screening.

The letter only centers on the request of the president seeking the confirmation of the appointment of William Babatunde Fowler as chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

He also requested the senate to confirm the appointment of Ahmed Lawal Kure as chairman of the Asset Management and Corpration of Nigeria,(AMCON) including the chairman of the Nigeria Communication Commission(NCC), Garba Danbata.
