Stephen Keshi has signed a new two-year contract as head coach of the national team. Keshi signed Tuesday after lengthy negotiations, says the Nigerian Football Federation. The previous Nigeria defender and captain had been working on a game-by-game deal after his previous contract expired following the previous year's World Cup. Nigeria then failed to qualify for this year's African Cup of Nations, leading Keshi's assistant coach to take charge of the team while Keshi negotiated a new deal. He stated.a day after that triumph in South Africa that he was resigning over problems with his bosses. He afterwards rescinded the resignation. Keshi has also previously complained about his wages not being paid. -
