Usman Sa’ad Abubakar, the eldest son of the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, was reportedly involved in a ghastly auto crash over the weekend.
The Sultan’s son popularly called Amir was driving at a very high speed in his Lexus within Sokoto Airport Road when the crash happened on Sunday noon, a report by A News Media said.
Two friends of his, Khalifa Maccido and an unnamed girl, were said to have been in the car with him when the crash occurred.
The monarch’s son and others were said to have been rushed to the Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital.
Amir was drunk during the time of the crash, and a bottle of codeine syrup was found in his car, A News Media report.
Officials of the Sultanate Council were also reportedly spotted removing the Sultanate council number plate from the car after the crash.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Sultanate Faruku Ladan Ddaji said he couldn’t confirm the incident as he was out of town.
