The family of former Sokoto State governor Attahiru Bafarawa has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to charge the former governor and his son to court if it has any evidence connecting them to any crime against Nigeria.
In a statement made available yesterday in Abuja, the family, through the media aide to Bafarawa, Yusuf Dingyadi, insisted that the ex-governor is being persecuted by the EFCC.
“Today is one week since Bafarawa was detained by the EFCC. And today marks two weeks that his son, Sagir Bafarawa has been in detention. Why are they being detained without charges? If the EFCC has any hard evidence that they have committed any crimes, it should charge them to court, ” Dingyadi stated.
