John Terry has become the latest Chelsea player to back Leicester City to win the Premier League title, as they look to secure the crown against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Foxes had been backed to suffer relegation from the league at the start of the season, but will wrap up an unlikely title if they win at Old Trafford, sitting seven points clear of Tottenham with just three games to go.

And Terry, whose Chelsea side face Spurs on Monday, hopes that Claudio Ranieri's side complete their fairytale rise against Louis van Gaal's men.

"I mostly voted for Leicester City players in my PFA Team of the Year and I obviously wish them well in their title race this season." Terry told Goal at the launch of the FootiEmoji app.

"Schmeichel, Drinkwater, Kante, Mahrez, Huth and Morgan, I voted for them all. I just think what they have accomplished is brilliant."

Both Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas have previously spoken of their wish to see Leicester beat Spurs to the title and, should the title race still be on when Mauricio Pochettino's men visit Stamford Bridge, Blues fans will be desperate to see Guus Hiddink's men end their bitter rivals' faint hopes of pipping Leicester.

Terry has been passed fit to play in the derby, and could be drafted in to mark in-form Spurs star Harry Kane.

The England international has scored 24 goals in 35 Premier League games this season and Terry admits he admires the 22-year-old, even voting for the forward to spearhead his Team of the Year.

"Kane has been one of the players I have been most impressed with this season." Terry said. "Having played against him when he was in top form, he was one of the best strikers and that’s why I voted for him in PFA Team of the Year.

"His movement and his strength make him really difficult to play against, he’s always one to watch out for. I do wish him well, especially for England."

Terry's team-mates will hope to carry on a proud Chelsea record when Tottenham visit on Monday; Spurs have not won at Stamford Bridge in 26 years.
