No one could accuse the Nissan GT-R of not changing with the times; or at least not trying to change.

It's been nearly a decade since the GT-R landed on our shores, but the car has been steadily refined seemingly every year since 2008, be it with more power or more power or...

The 2017 Nissan GT-R, shown Wednesday at the New York Auto Show, is another subtle refinement and keeping up with the times for the venerable and lunatic powerhouse.

Alright, it does look like Nissan designers squeezed a little Maxima grille onto the old GT-R's face, with the silver V now resting below the badge. It's not necessarily an improvement to my eye, just a change. Perhaps it goes better with the interior that's now less button-heavy and might even be nice for a car that can cost six figures.

Yet all of this refinement would sound like the GT-R is getting softer in its old age, were it not for the 20-horsepower bump to a ridiculous 565 horsepower. Ridiculousness just got a little more ridiculous.

The GT-R's looks are maturing. No one told its soul about againg, though.
