Inauguration of the 8th Katsina State House of Assembly was yesterday morning disrupted by thugs and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The thugs and APC supporters, who thronged the premises and chamber of the Assembly, kept legislative proceedings from holding.
This disruption caused the inauguration as well as election of the new leadership of the House to be shifted till 4pm yesterday.
It was learnt that the development may not be unconnected with rancour amongst members of the APC, over who should become the new Speaker of the House.
A meeting held between the state government and the lawmakers up till the wee hours of yesterday, was deadlocked over who should become Speaker.
