Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu has described the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) Osita Okechukwu as a daydreamer.
This came as a reaction to a statement by the VON DG where he said he would retire Ekweremadu from politics.
However, in a statement, Ekweremadu noted that the threat is simply empty as the All Progressives Congress does not have what it takes to win in the South East.
“Osita is an Abuja politician that doesn’t know anybody at the grassroot. Over the years, we had election in our ward and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has always come out victoriously with a flying colour,” the statement read partly.
“But beyond that, let me draw your attention to the fact that that as I speak to you, in Eke ward that APC has two factional chairman and I wonder how Okechukwu will get nomination in the first place not to talk of getting nomination for the party in Enugu west.
“PDP is on ground and we know that our people are PDP. They support and will vote for PDP.
“My brother Okechukwu cannot retire anybody; It’s an over statement to say that he will retire any man from politics. Man by nature is a political animal and nobody can retire any human being from politics.”
As stated by the statement: “Talking of retiring anybody… is another dream. We have 81 wards in Enugu West senatorial district, which Eke ward is just one ward.
“So it’s dream which I know will never work out for now. Let him first contend with me and see if he will defeat me in Eke ward before going to Udi, not to talk of Enugu west zone. Let him go back first and start building bridge for him to cross the bridge,” Ngbor said.
