Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has commended members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South East for mobilizing women ahead of the 2019 general election.
Mrs. Buhari commended the APC when party women visited her yesterday at the State House, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
“It is a fact that women determine the outcome of elections; therefore, it is important to mobilize more women to ensure that our great party is re-elected to continue the good work that it is doing”, she said.
The First Lady commended the high number of women aspirants from the zone, expressing the hope that this will lead to producing more able and competent candidates.
“Women need to be in political offices for them to make a difference in the lives of their families,” she said, promising to support female aspirant across party lines.
She called on officials and members of the APC to ensure party supremacy, respect party constitution and shun divisive tendencies.
