A woman has begged a court to dissolve her marriage alleging that her husband not only beats her but beats up her mother.
The woman identified as Ronke Olanrewaju told an Oja-Oba Customary Court, Mapo in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital that her husband, Sunday Olanrewaju was abusive and violent.
She explained further that Sunday batters her each time he sees her with male customers and whenever she informs the police, he would brag about being a prominent politician.
Ronke, a mother-of-three threatened to poison the man if the court fails to grant her request.
She said, “My lord, he also beat up my mother like a baby. Separate us now, or else, I will poison him. Each time I discuss business with male customers, he would beat me and say they were my lovers.”
On the other hand, Sunday pleaded with the court not to dissolve the marriage because he still valued their relationship.
Punch reported that the court President, Chief Henry Agbaje, stated that due to the woman’s threat, the matter would have been dissolved but there is room for reconciliation.
Agbaje fixed September 18, 2018, for a ruling.
