Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has insinuated that killings in some elements of Nigeria have prevented the federal authorities from declaring a state of emergency in Rivers.
The governor revealed that he urged the individuals of Rivers to wish for what turned herdsmen-farmers crises in Benue, Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, Zamfara and Kogi, to divert the eye of the central authorities from his state.
Wike, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this recognized whereas talking at an occasion organised by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
”When there was a lot insecurity on this state I used to be pleading with them however the Federal authorities refused to help me. Rather they have been in search of an alternative to declare a state of emergency,” he mentioned.
“So, I got here again dwelling to inform my individuals to kneel down and pray; Let there be issues in all places. So, they don’t speak about me once more. They are actually speaking about Zamfara, Kogi, Benue, Taraba and Plateau.
“Let them come and declare state of emergency in Rivers state now. They have to go back and say God, sorry for what we have done to Rivers state.”
