Jack Wilshere has hailed Arsenal's signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, and believes the midfieler will be a hit at the Emirates Stadium in 2016-17.
Xhaka, who completed a £30 million move to the club in May, made 36 appearances for Gladbach last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
And Wilshere insists that the 23-year-old can make a major impact in north London as the Gunners again go in search of the Premier League title.
"I've played against him a few times at youth level for England and also for the first team with England, so I know him quite well," Wilshere told the official Arsenal website.
"I've always thought he was a good player, he's very strong and has got a good left foot.
"He's a leader, he can hold the midfield together and can get things going from back to front. He's a good signing."
Xhaka could make his debut for Arsenal when they take on the MLS All-Star team on Thursday in San Jose.
