A 21-year-old lady Amudalat Taiwo has been arrested for throwing her 12-day-old child into a pit rest room in Ilaro space of Ogun state.
Taiwo was nabbed after a criticism from her landlord, Oshunshina Olawale, in line with spokesman for the police within the southwest state, Abimbola Oyeyemi.
He stated the owner reported that one among his tets on 28, Isheri Street, Ilaro, wakened early on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, and went to the bathroom to alleviate herself and later, the cry of a child was heard contained in the pit rest room.
Detectives have been despatched to the scene, the place the latrine was damaged and the newborn rescued.
The suspect instructed the police that she was an orphan, including that she received married to at least one Taiwo Owolabi, who was already married to a different lady with whom he had 5 youngsters.
“She stated further that the husband had never taken care of her and the baby and since she had no means of catering to the newborn baby, she decided to do away with her,” the police spokesman stated.
In the meantime, the alleged husband is in police custody.
