The ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), may convene a mini-convention to fill offices left vacant by some members who were nominated as ministers by President Muhammadu Buhari.
A major agenda would be to fill the post of National Publicity Secretary occupied by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who is now a minister-designate representing Kwara State in the federal cabinet.
The party is looking for a professional to replace Mohammed with at least, four members in contention, The Sun gathered.
Candidates being considered are Mohammed's deputy, Mr. Timi Frank; Lagos State spokesperson of the party, Mr. Joe Igbokwe; his Ogun State counterpart, Mr. Sola Lawal; and the spokesman of the defunct Congress of Democrat for Change (CPC), Mr. Rotimi Fasakin.
A source close to the Abuja headquarters of the party said some of the criteria the party would use in getting a suitable replacement include party loyalty, understanding the workings of the party and consistency in party affairs.
