Federal Government Withdraws Forgery Charge Against Ozekhome

The Federal Government has today, Tuesday, withdrawn the criminal charge of forgery previously filed against Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, in connection with a disputed property case in the United Kingdom.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Federation announced its decision at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, sitting in Maitama. The charge against Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, stemmed from his alleged involvement in a contentious property case located in the United Kingdom.

Reports had previously indicated that a UK tribunal implicated Mr Ozekhome for allegedly utilising fraudulent documents to assert ownership of a property situated at 79 Randall Avenue, London NW2 7SX. This particular property was later identified as belonging to the late General Jeremiah Useni from Plateau State.

Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, informed Justice Peter Kekemeke that the Attorney General of the Federation had determined it necessary to conduct a holistic review of the case. This comprehensive examination is intended to ascertain the most appropriate course of action moving forward.
