Sunday Oliseh’s recent meeting with Liverpool winger, Jordan Ibe, appears to have yielded no positive result as the talented striker has reportedly committed to play international football for England, despite interest to have him play as an Eagle.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Bermondsey, is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his father's nationality.
The new Super Eagles' head coach held talks with Ibe over switching his national allegiance on Wednesday, to no avail. The youngster who has made 10 appearances for England at youth level turned the approach down, preferring to stick with England, the Liverpool Echo reported yesterday.
Oliseh, during his recent visit to England also held talks with Arsenal youngster, Alex Iwobi, another player in the list of promising foreign-based youngsters he hopes to work with in his new-look Super Eagles. But unlike Ibe, Iwobi is said to be favourably disposed to play for Nigeria after being convinced by his uncle and former Nigeria captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.
