Kano Lawmakers Sworn In After By-Elections

On Tuesday, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, officially presided over the swearing-in ceremony for two newly elected lawmakers, Sa’adu Aminu Sa’adu and Nabil Aliyu Sarki Daneji, who will represent Ungogo and Kano Municipal constituencies respectively.

The two new members have taken up their positions following recent by-elections. These polls, overseen by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), were held to fill vacancies within their constituencies. Their election forms part of supplementary polls conducted across the state, bringing fresh faces into the Assembly to occupy seats left open due to earlier legal disputes and political realignments.

Filling Vacant Seats

Both Sa’adu and Daneji secured their victories under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Notably, they are succeeding their fathers, who both tragically passed away on the same day in December of last year, leading to the by-elections.

Pledges to Constituents

Following his oath of office, Sa’adu Aminu Sa’adu made a firm commitment to diligently work for the advancement of the Ungogo constituency. He also pledged to uphold the interests of the people who have placed their trust in his mandate.

Similarly, Nabil Aliyu Sarki Daneji, in his address, assured the constituents of Kano Municipal that both he and his colleague would endeavour to faithfully discharge their duties. He underscored their dedication to meeting the expectations of the electorate, promising responsible and effective representation within the State Assembly.
