The first part of Kogi governorship results collation from the 21 local government areas at INEC headquarters in Lokoja ended after 11 local governments were announced.
INEC had postponed the collation exercise from last night to today morning because results were yet to come in from the local governments yesterday.
Shortly before the collation started, results from only 18 local governments had been presented to INEC.
After the results from 11 local governments were announced, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Haliru Kpai announced that they were taking a 30 minutes break to resume at 11:00pm for the collation to continue.
The results from 11 local governments showed that Prince Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was taking the lead with a total of 120000, having won in eight of the 11 local governments whose results had been collated, while Governor Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 90000 votes, having won in three out of the 11 local governments.

1. The collation officer for Okehi local government had stated one of the polling units was canceled due to over voting. This rattled the PDP, Mr. Adaga into demanding for the number of the registered voters, to which the collation stated they were 403 registered voters.
2. Ogori-Magongo. Registered voters 14,387 Accredited voters 4,820 APC 1,931 PDP 2,601
3. Mopa/Moro LGA Registered voters: 18,348.
Accredited voters: 8,859 APC 3,888 PDP 4,195
4. Ajaokuta local government: Registered voters 52,441 Accredited voters 17,466 APC 8,581 PDP 6,903
Three polling units were canceled in Ajaokuta local government because of violence. The PUs are Ibiya South, Ituwa Opaja and Agbamila Ogodo.
5. Adavi Local government: There are 11 Wards and 191 Polling Units Registered voters: 85,127 Accredited voters: 30,993 APC 15,636 PDP 11,902
6. Kogi-Kotonkarfe local government: There are 11 wards and 67 PUs Registered voters 45,817 Accredited voters 21,834 PDP 9,316 APC 10,426
7. Ijumu local government: There are 15 wards and 79 PUs. Registered voters: 46,819 Accredited voters: 18,199 APC: 9,958 PDP: 6,040
8. Okene local government: There are 11 wards and 266 PUs Registered voters: 117,132 Accredited voters: 33,703 APC: 14,786 PDP: 15,968
9. Yagba West local government There are 14 wards Registered voters: 35,966 Accredited voters: 15,902 APC: 7,930 PDP: 7,021
10. Yagba East local government: 10 wards Registered voters 35,322 Accredited voters: 13,921 APC :7,129 PDP: 5,368 The collation officer stated result of Ogele 05 polling unit of this local government was canceled, following attacks by thugs who beat up the polling officers and destroyed the polling the booth, .
11. Idah local government There are 10 wards Registered voters: 48,762 Accredited voters: 21471 APC: 11,779 PDP: 6,952
Earlier, a woman came into the collation center claiming that he was authorized the APC governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu to act as his agent at the collation after someone had already been registered as the party’s agent.
INEC told the parties to settle among themselves which of the person would stand as agent.
While the PDP also presented four agents who took attendance, INEC told them to present only one agent.
The second part of the collation exercise has commenced and is in progress.
