With a bit of extra juice in its "veins", this 2.0 TDCi Bi-Turbo model is a welcome improvement over the stock car.

Ford's current 210 PS Duratorq (TDCi) engine packs 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque and is capable of pushing this flagship diesel-powered Mondeo to 100 km/h in around 8 seconds, before making its way to 233 km/h (145 mph).

Top speed is practically the same (235 km / 146 mph), so the difference in performance doesn't sound particularly impressive. It's only when you factor in the 218 Nm increase in torque that McChip-DKR's work in improving the Mondeo becomes apparent.

Right now, the stock 2.0 TDCi Bi-Turbo version of the Mondeo is nearly as fast as the flagship 2.0 EcoBoost model which packs 240 PS. Unfortunately we'll have to wait until McChip-DKR releases additional figures to see how its package has affected fuel consumption and emissions.
