Newcastle United new boy Kenedy says he is raring to go and wants to face Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Chelsea loanee was presented to the media at the club’s Benton base and stated he was simply waiting for the nod to start against the Clarets from Rafa Benitez this week.

The left-sided player was all smiles as he prepared for life at his new club and admitted he can’t wait to get started.

He said: “The city is beautiful, the club is wonderful and I am really happy to be part of the club.

“It’s been really good. The coach will decide where I will play, but I am enjoying it and I will do my best for the team.

“It was a nice experience to sign.

“It’s a big team and it’s really good to be part of it and I will do my best.

But Kenedy did not need to be reminded that Newcastle were in a relegation battle and the aim was to get out of the scrap at the bottom as soon as possible.

He said: “I will do my best on the field and I hope I can help my colleagues to get the team out of this situation.

Kenedy is desperate to do well for Rafa Benitez and revealed the Newcastle manager’s presence on Tyneside persuaded him to come north.

He said: “Rafa is an excellent coach and I think he will help me a lot.

“I intend to learn a lot at this club. He was excellent when I talked to him before coming here and I think he will help me a lot.”
