Enugu State Police Command has apprehended six armed robbery suspects who had allegedly been wrecking havoc within Uwani neighbourhood of the State capital and its environs, the spokesman of the Command, Ebere Amaraizu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) disclosed in a statement on Sunday. DSP Amaraizu stated the suspects who gave their names as Monday Ojah, Chibuike Duhu, Onyeka Abuchi Nweke, Ibe Ifeanyichukwu, Malachy Ugo and Chinonso Eze, were nabbed on Tuesday last week by policemen from Uwani Division, following a tip-off about their nefarious activities ranging from Armed Robbery as well as cultism amongst others. Amaraizu revealed that the suspects are helping the police in their investigations. He stated the suspects in their response confirmed that they are members of the JVC Confraternity and went further to reveal how they usually rob their victims by pointing gun and inflicting fear on their victims. He stated they further disclosed that it was when they were coming back from cult initiations that they robbed their victim on the day in question and however pleaded for forgiveness. In another development, one Friday Amushi of Isienu Amagunze in Nkanu East is helping men of the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in their investigations into his alleged shooting of someone at Amagunze on May 8. Based on what was gathered, suspect had allegedly in a burial ceremony shot at his victim with a locally made single barrel gun while trying to demonstrate with the gun. It was also learnt that the victim was driving into the burial arena when the pellet broke through the windscreen of his car and hit him on the right shoulder. Amaraizu who confirmed this report stated the victim was later rushed to University Of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Ituku Ozalla where he was responding to treatment.
