Florentino Perez has requested reports on the Argentine following his impressive work with Tottenham as question marks over Zinedine Zidane's future continue to linger
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is sounding out Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as Zinedine Zidane's replacement, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The report claims Perez has requested details on the Argentine, who has a contract at White Hart Lane until 2019, after being impressed with his work in turning Tottenham into Premier League title challengers.
Athletic Bilbao head coach Ernesto Valverde had been targeted should Zidane leave his position, along with Unai Emery, Michel and Quique Sanchez Flores.
However, the report also states that Perez is wary of making an approach for Pochettino after strenuous dealings with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy over the sale of Gareth Bale.
