
The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) says it has confiscated and destroyed pirated items worth over a billion Naira in a continued war against piracy.
As stated by a statement by the commission, truck loads of confiscated exhibits worth N1.4 Billion from concluded anti-piracy cases in the Kaduna Liaison Office were burnt last month.
The burning exercise was carried out on October 22, 2015 ‘after due approvals and consultation with relevant agencies and stakeholders.’
As stated by NCC website, the Director General of the Commission, Afam Ezekude, Directors A.T. Kohol, Augustine Amodu and Bitrus Dauda as well as representatives from relevant regions and government agencies were part of the exercise.
